Sound Wizard hosts EASE training by AFMG

Auroville, India – The successful cooperation between AFMG and Sound Wizard has made it possible, for the first time in India, to get a full EASE level 1 and 2 training. The positive turnout of 17 participants coming from across India, Qatar, Taiwan, France and Germany made for a vibrant international group.

The seminar was organized in the international town of Auroville near Pondicherry. This location was chosen, aside from being the base of Sound Wizard, because it offered participants a chance to fully disconnect from their daily activities and focus on EASE within an eco-friendly lush tropical setting. The training venue was in a green-building powered by 100% solar energy hidden in the forest of Auroville. Surrounded by clean fresh air, the silence of the forest, and peaceful nature the participants could immerse themselves in the world of acoustical modeling.

Instructor Emad El-Saghir started off with an overview of EASE and the basics of room modeling and sound system design. Building on theory practical hands on training was taken up for participants to become comfortable using the powerful EASE database, mapping results with visualization function. Then moving into the more pure room acoustical theory for the final 2 days. Advanced simulation modules like raytracing and auralisation were discussed, as well as the details of the EASE loudspeaker data formats and post-processing of calculation results.

Sound Wizard- a leading acoustical design company in India; was pleased to host this event as it helps fellow industry professionals deliver better results to their venue designs. In turn, this will increase overall quality, awareness and acoustical appreciation for better sounding spaces. Participants expressed encouraging positive feedback on developing their skill set in such a pristine setting. This successful first EASE training by AFMG which was hosted by Sound Wizard will hopefully lead to further collaborations between both companies and the hosting of more such events in the future.
