A touch of class

One of the coolest places to hang out in Hyderabad is Touch, a venue based around a restaurant and lounge bar most of the week except on two nights when it becomes a disco with a second, smaller lounge bar called Fever. The main lounge/disco area can host up to 600 people and has the capacity to deliver a peak sound level of 124dB anywhere on the dance floor, thanks to the sound system installed by Auroville-based Sound Wizard.

Offering architectural acoustics and professional system design for music recording, film mixing, dubbing and broadcasting studios, auditoriums, dance and drama theaters, conference and meeting areas, recreational places, multimedia rooms and home theater installations, Sound Wizard has added Touch to a list of commissions that include AR Rahman's AM Studios and Yotam Agam's Clementine Recording Studios in Chennai, the Bharat Nivas auditorium refurbishment in Auroville and the traditional Kerala style Adishakti Dance, Drama and Music Hall in Pondicherry.

The installation at Touch is based around four Ohm TRS112 and four Lunaray cabinets with two Ohm 2188 subs, driven by a combination of Ohm CFU2, CFU3 and 2400 amplifiers. For Fever, Sound Wizard installed four Ohm Lunarays with four Moon subs driven by an Ohm 2400 amplifier.

Touch prides itself on being in the vanguard of the music scene, with a powerful sound and top guest DJs spinning discs regularly. The venue also has house DJ Yogi on hand to keep the show going.
